Recently aquired by the national trust and in the process of being renovated, Godolphin House is 5 miles north-west of Helston, between Townshend and Godolphin Cross. The house and gardens date from the 15th Century.

St Michaels Mount (NT)
St Michaels Mount is an island, joined to the mainland at Marazion Nr Penzance by a causeway at low tide. The is the home of the St Aubyn family and has a 12th centrury church and castle.

Trerice House (NT)
Trerice is one of the smaller National Trust properties and can be found near Kestle Mill, Nr Newquay. It is an Elizabethan E shaped building and the garden contains orchards and a collection of historic lawn-mowers.

Trengwainton Gardens (NT)
On the outskirts of Penzance, Trengwianton is a 98 acre, garden. There are extensive shruberies, specimen trees, a walled flower and vegetable garden and a stream/bog garden with views to St Michaels Mount.

Glendurgan Gardens (NT)
Glendurgan is set in a wooded valley near at Mawan Smith on the shore of the beautiful Helford estuary just ariund the corner from Trebah (see below),and is one of the great sub-tropical gardens of the South West. It also has a famous maze.

Trevarno Gardens

Between Camborne and Helston is Trevarno. Nice Gardens and woodland walks with abundant peacocks on the lawn. The lake and boathouse is very photogenic. Reindeer heard, Railway restoration project. National collection of daffodils, and Museum of gardening. Events throughout the year. There is also an adventure playground for the kids.

The Lost Gardens of Heligan
Near Mevagissy these gardens have been restored and well marketed by Tim Smit (who went on to create the Eden Project). They have been the subject of TV series and many books. The gardens comprose more than 80 of pleasure gardens plus a complex of walled gardens and a huge vegetable garden. There alre also wildlife areas and regular events
