Your friendly Cornish hosts, Christine and Colin welcome you to Kitty's Korner, a holiday apartment set in the quiet village of Carnkie near Redruth, Cornwall. Carnkie is on the southern slope of Carn Brea. Also, this village is not far from either coast.
Carnkie is centrally located in West Cornwall and makes an ideal base from which to visit many of the attractions that West Cornwall has to offer.
The seaside town of St Ives lies about 15 miles to the west, Penzance and Lands End about 25 miles to the south-west, The Lizard, Britain's most southerly point is 20 miles to the south, while the Eden Project is about 30 miles to the east.
Above the village on the summit of Carn Brea itself is the 90ft high Carn Brea Monument, which can be seen for miles around and dominates the landscape.
Surrounding Carnkie is splendid, tranquil, unspoilt countryside rich in the remains of disused engine houses that reflect the industrial heritage of this area, indeed Carnkie lies at the heart of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site.
Carnkie Methodist Chapel is held in the Community Institute, and we have services on Sunday mornings at 10-30am. All are welcome. Other Churches are also nearby.
Nearby there is a Tesco Xtra which is open 24hr (except Sunday). Also, an excellent fish & chip shop. The village Institute which was recently rebuilt, now houses the Carnkie Methodist Church, and they hold a morning service on Sundays at 10-30am.
